Home Update

Well finally some progress has occurred. Yesterday was the deadline for the house. We were panicky all day because our lender was still trying to convince the underwriter that they should in fact loan us the money. We were pretty sad because we didn't think things were going to work out so we pretty much were giving up on the house and deciding if we wanted to rent for a few months or if we should start looking again right away. Then something magical happened our Realtor called with the suggestion that we get in touch with the listing agent and use their lender, that way they would know that we have good credit and that isn't anything wrong with us that it was GMAC (the stupid lending bank). So we went over to the lender gave him our stuff and he said no problem and we are scheduled to really close on Tuesday! We really think it is going to happen this time because with this lender the underwriter works for him. So hopefully we will finally be home owners on Tuesday. Please keep your fingers crossed and doing your special close the house dance to help us out but we'll let you know as soon as we do.

Oh to boot when the lender sent the appraiser over the house GMAC had already been there (last Thursday) and had winterized the house and taken the lock box off the front door. Whoops. Don't worry the house isn't foreclosed or anything I guess it was just a mix up at head quarters. Gotta love GMAC.
